As a member of Steen Engineering’s team for the past 24 years, Teri has a proven record of competent office management. Teri oversees all aspects of day to day business and financial transactions.

After graduating from North Hennepin Community College and spending a few years in the Human Service field, Teri joined Steen Engineering, Inc. She returned to school in 1998, graduating from Metropolitan State University, St. Paul, MN with her Bachelor Degree in Business Administration and a minor in Economics. She was promoted to the Director of Business Administration and Finance position in 2007. In 2016, Teri returned to school and graduated from Devry University - Keller Graduate School of Management with a Graduate Certificate in Financial Analysis.

John Alseth Vice President and Principal 763.235.4796 John Alseth is a skilled Senior Electrical Designer with over 30 years of experience. John provides successful electrical design strategies for all levels of projects ranging from Performing Arts Centers, Churches, Assisted and Independent Living facilities, Retail, Apartments, Offices and Skilled Care Campuses to complicated remodels. Prior to joining Steen Engineering in 2005, John worked for a variety of medium to large consulting engineering firms, a lighting manufacturer, an electrical contractor and also owned his own software company.

Kurt Smith

Kurt Smith is a Senior Mechanical Designer that has been with the firm for 20 years. Kurt has thorough knowledge of LEED, Green Criteria and Sustainable Strategies and pairs that with his affable demeanor and excellent communication skills, earning him praise among his clients. Kurt graduated from Minneapolis Drafting School in 1997.

Richard Becker, PE

Richard Becker is a licensed professional mechanical engineer with 9 years of design experience. He has completed a variety of projects ranging from Skilled Care facilities to High Rise construction. Richard Excels with his technical skills in the use of multiple design applications including Revit, AutoCAD and Navis Works. His attention to detail, exceptional organization skills, meeting the client's design and budget requirements all help him provide first-class service and design for Steen Clients. Richard earned his Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering Degree from North Dakota State University and has an Associate's Degree in Engineering Cad Technology from Hennepin Technical College. Richard recently became a dual licensed engineer holding both a mechanical and electrical license in the State of Minnesota.

John Hazucha, PE

John Hazucha specializes in managing engineering projects and design of complex HVAC systems, including controls, plumbing and fire protection systems for healthcare, mission critical, educational, food service and commercial office facilities. He is passionate about improving design practices to drive efficient use of resources. John has 20 years of experience in building engineering. John is a graduate of the University of Minnesota, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in mechanical engineering, and is currently a licensed PE in Minnesota and Montana.

DeNell Lanning

DeNell is a project leader with more than 30 years of experience in lighting, power and communication systems. DeNell has dedicated much of his career to medical projects, including hospitals, clinics and nursing homes. He also has extensive casino, school and municipal experience.

With his years of experience and dedication to influencing positive design within the electrical industry, DeNell has a proven track record for excellent design.

Scott Davis

Scott is a mechanical designer with 20 years of design experience in HVAC and Plumbing systems. He has considerable experience in the hospitality industry and has also worked on a variety of projects ranging from tenant fit-ups to large senior living campuses. Scott excels with technical skills in the use of multiple design applications including LEED/Green Criteria and selection software, attention to details, meeting the client’s design and budget requirements, all which helps produce a top-quality systems design for Steen’s clients.

Scott graduated from Dunwoody College of Technology where he earned his A.A.S. Degree in mechanical engineering drafting and design.

Jake Melbostad, PE

Jake is an Electrical Engineer with 9 years experience in lighting, power, fire alarm and communication systems. Jake has worked on a wide variety of project types including new construction and renovation of commercial, education, retail, multi-family and municipal. He serves as project manager and is a member of several design and standard committees responsible for keeping the engineering department up to date on codes and design standards. Jake is a graduate of Milwaukee School of Engineering with a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering Degree and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Minnesota.
